PACKING TIPS

Get ready for the removals

All removals are unique, and all of us have their own preferences on the number and type of items kept at home. Some homes could be minimalistic while others could include a showroom of every item type.

So what's needed then to be ready to pack it all?
Some rough suggestions to get an idea of what type and quantity of packing materials usually would suite for the move.

STUDIO FLAT
10 boxes, 15 metres of bubble-wrap, 1 tape

1 BED FLAT
15-25 boxes, 1/4 bale of packing paper, 20 meters of bubble-wrap, 2 tapes

2 BED FLAT
20-30 boxes, 1/3 bale of packing paper, 45 meters of bubble-wrap, 3 tapes

3 BED HOUSE/FLAT
25-45 boxes, 1/2 bale of packing paper, 70 meters of bubble-wrap, 4 tapes

4-5 BED HOUSE
40-65 boxes, 1 bale of packing paper, 105 meters of bubble-wrap, 5 tapes

As a usual practice, the best is to get around 50% boxes in medium size, and the rest would be small boxes and large ones, 25% and 25% accordingly. You might require taller boxes if you do have any bigger size items to pack or any small but steady ones to pack any heavy items like books or magazines.

Wardrobe boxes could be useful if you would like to pack your clothes.  They might save your time from ironing your clothes after the move.

Make sure you have few marker pens to itemise your household contents. Also, fragile stickers are really handy if you have anything to be transported with extra care.
